This policy explains what information Recern handles when you use this website, download Recern or contact us.

This website does not ask you for personal information. Like most web servers, ours records technical information with each request, such as your IP address, browser and the page or file requested, to deliver the website and downloads and to protect them from abuse. If you email us, we receive your address and your message.
Website analytics
We use privacy-friendly analytics without cookies to understand aggregate website use, such as which pages are visited. It does not build profiles of individual visitors.
The desktop app
Recern Workspace runs on your computer. Connections, queries, database contents and file paths are never sent to us; passwords stay in the operating system keychain. From 0.3.0, optional app statistics are off by default and require permission in Settings → Privacy. After consent, the app sends its version, OS version, architecture and a random installation ID at most once per UTC day. The receiver derives the country from the connection; Cloudflare processes the IP address for delivery and country lookup, but our telemetry database does not store it. Reports expire after 90 days. Counts represent opted-in installations, not distinct people. Turning sharing off stops future reports and deletes the local ID; reports already received expire normally. No queries, database names, usage events or personal profiles are collected.
Earlier sign-ups
If you signed up for early access before that list was closed, we keep the email address and answers you gave in Notion to tell you about Recern releases. Ask us at any time and we will delete them.
Legal basis and retention
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interests in running and securing the website, and on your consent for sign-ups. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations. Optional app statistics also require your consent, which you can withdraw in Settings at any time.
Your choices and rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your information, or stop receiving news about Recern. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, request portability or complain to a data protection authority.
Security and changes
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, although no internet service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy as Recern develops and will publish the revised date on this page.
